Dr Amir Khan has received an outpouring of support from his followers after sharing a recent unpleasant encounter at his local gym. The TV doctor , who regularly shares health tips on his social media platforms, opened up about a clash he had with another gym-goer . Taking to Instagram , Dr Amir detailed the incident where he crossed paths with a man who was filming his workout . He began: “Listen, I need to have a little rant, just a little one, you know I love it and I might be overreacting here so tell me if that is the case. “So not long ago I got back from the gym and when I was at the gym there’s an area of the gym which is quite busy, it’s all the free weights bit and there’s benches and whatnot and I wanted to get some weights but there was this lad there who was filming himself lifting weights and he had a tripod and a camera and I was like, ‘okay fair enough’. “So I wait for him to do his set I thought I won’t go in because I need to get to the weights which he was sitting in front of and that would involve me going in front of his camera. So I thought I’d wait and he finished his set and I thought, ‘right okay I’ll go and get the weights I need now’.” “So I went in front of his camera to get the weights And he gave me the dirtiest look. Like, the dirtiest look. And he said, ‘I’m filming here’. And I went, ‘oh, well, I’m sorry. I waited for you to finish your set’. “I thought that was it. And I just need to get these weights and I’ll be out your way. And he huffed and he puffed. And then he said, ‘I’m going to have to do it all again’. And I went, ‘well, you know, here’s a gym’. “I mean, not being funny, but… It’s a gym for everyone who goes there, right? Right? Am I…? Anyway, I just did my weights and did all my whatever I needed to do and then left.” Dr Amir’s fans rallied behind him, maintaining he had absolutely nothing to apologise for. One declared: “Really bad, entitled, self centred behaviour. Filming in gyms is not ok. Where were the people who work there? You should not have had to have this confrontation.” Another said: “If he wants to film without interruption then he should book the gym out privately when they are normally closed!”. “You are right. The guy filming was being pretty self absorbed and thoughtless. I hate it when you’re forced into these types of situations – what a shame,” a third contributed. The incident also sparked heated debate about people recording videos in gyms altogether. “It’s all about boundaries. No one should be allowed to film in there, it should be a safe space for everyone to be able to be themselves freely,” remarked one person. Another individual commented: “I’ll have to do it ALL again? Does he not know about editing? Either way I agree, if he is filming, HE should be courteous to everyone else at the gym and work around them! “You are totally right a gym is for everyone. If the chap wanted to do his film he should ask for out of hours. Filming in gyms should be banned no photography at all,” another user chimed in.
