This Maharashtra Route Got Its First Train After 30 Years: Know Stations, Timings & Ticket Prices

Ending the 30-year wait, residents of Beed got the first train to Ahilyanagar on September 17. The inauguration was done by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of deputy CM and Beed guardian minister Ajit Pawar and other leaders.
The work on the Beed-Ahilyanagar-Parli railway project started progressing in the past two years, with a station built at Palwan Chowk in Beed city.
Pawar in a post on X said: “The dream of the Beed to Ahilyanagar railway is a very old one. Work on it began in 1995-96, but it didn’t gain momentum. Thanks to the immense love and support from the people over the last five years, this project is now on track. Today, 17th September, is Marathwada Liberation Day. On this historic day, we are launching this project. I express my gratitude to Hon. Shri. Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Shri. Ashwiniji Vaishnaw for giving momentum to this project. Today is a day of joy not only for the people of Beed and Ahilyanagar but for the entire Marathwada region.”

“This railway line is not just about connecting two districts; it paves the way for a new direction in development. Railway services will now extend from Ahilyanagar to Pune and further to Mumbai. Along with the railway, the development of Beed will now accelerate in areas such as airports, educational institutions like CIIIT, veterinary colleges, healthcare facilities, and job creation.
