This Airline Has The World’s Best Business Class Seat In 2025

According to Skytrax's World Airline Awards, Qatar Airways has the best business class seats, as well as the overall best business class product. This is thanks to Qsuite, which gives passengers the unique ability to sit and work together, while also being able to make their suites private to get some much-needed rest. In this article, discover what makes Qsuite so worthy of this industry acknowledgment and why you won't be able to access this leading product on all Qatar Airways routes. The article then concludes with some thoughts on All Nippon Airways' new 'THE Room FX' product. This seat also takes a unique approach and could rival Qatar Airways for next year's Skytrax World’s Best Business Class Airlines awards. The Skytrax World's Best Business Class Airlines Awards Skytrax has released its annual World's Best Business Class Airlines 2025 as part of its World Airline Awards 2025. Qatar Airways has swept up the main award alongside many of the sub-categories. This includes the Qsuite being named the World's Best Business Class seat and their Al Mourjan Garden lounge in Doha, named the World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge. Other airlines have been able to take some of the other categories, although Qatar has performed well across those as well. Turkish Airlines has the Best Business Class Onboard Catering, while Air Canada’s Toronto Pearson Signature Suite has won the Best Business Class Lounge Dining award. Finally, Hainan Airlines has won the award for the Best Business Class Airline Onboard Amenities. The table below shows the airlines' positioning in the top five for each of the Skytrax Business Class Awards categories: Skytrax also has regional awards for the overall business class experience, which allows smaller airlines to come to the fore. In Africa, Ethiopian Airlines won, while Air India won the regional award for India and South Asia. Meanwhile, Skytrax has positioned LATAM as the best business class product in South America this year. Qatar Airways Has The Best Business Class Seats Skytrax's awards are unequivocal that Qatar Airways has the best business class experience, including the best business class seat on the market (Qsuite). A unique feature is that multiple suites can be booked together with movable panels. The Quad allows you to book four business class seats at once, creating a space for socializing, eating together, and collaborative work. This allows business class travelers to maintain privacy while also avoiding a commonly isolating experience. Twin and double suites are also available. Alongside this premium and unique seating layout, Qatar also ensures passengers can experience the height of comfort with its Diptyque amenity kit. This is bespoke for passengers traveling from Doha and aims to be the perfect travel souvenir. It includes lip balm, body lotion, essential face cream, and an exclusive fragrance, so you can continue to enjoy the premium flying experience long after you touch down. Qsuite is only available on select routes as it has not been rolled out across the entire Qatar Airways network. You can check if Qsuite will be available when you make your booking. Furthermore, unexpected operational changes due to aircraft replacements could also lead to Qsuite being unavailable. Qatar's Next Generation Qsuite Announced at Farnborough The carrier announced a further upgrade to this revolutionary business class experience at the Farnborough International Airshow in 2024 during a presentation led by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer. Al-Meer said: “We are excited to have finally revealed the long-awaited Qsuite Next Gen at the Farnborough International Airshow. Qatar Airways has once again raised the bar for its award-winning product, the Qsuite. We look forward to welcoming media and partners to our stand throughout the week to experience the future of business class travel with the World’s Best Business Class onboard the World’s Best Airline.” Alongside the updated Qsuite, Al-Meer also announced Qatar Executive's new Gulfstream G700. This included four new aircraft and six additional ones that were scheduled to arrive over the following 18 months. Al-Meer told attendees that it would be available on the airlines' 777Xs by 2025. The airline had orders for 40 777-9s and placed an order for 20 more of the aircraft at Farnborough. Ongoing 777X delays have disrupted these plans. The Aircraft Featuring Qsuite Not every aircraft in the Qatar Airways fleet features Qsuite, its flagship business class product. The product can be found on all 25 of the airline's Airbus A350-1000s, and will presumably also be included in the 17 further A350-1000s it has ordered. The same can be said for the airline's 32 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and the 61 it has on order. However, Qsuite aboard the Dreamliners follows a herringbone seating pattern, which is undesirable for some passengers. Other aircraft types have Qsuite on only selected aircraft. This includes Qatar's A350-900s (10 out of 33), Boeing 777-200LRs (7 out of 9), and Boeing 777-300ERs (38 out of 48). Be sure to double-check when making your booking. Alternatively, you can check that your route is flown exclusively by 787-9s and A350-1000s. Operational reasons may mean that your Qsuite-fitted aircraft is replaced by one with Qatar's old 2-2-2 layout. If this happens, you will be notified. You can access a free flight change within 21 days of your flight or receive a full refund if you prefer not to fly on standard Qatar Airways business class. Simple Flying Test Qsuite In the summer of 2024, Simple Flying's Tatenda Karuwa was lucky enough to test Qsuite during a flight from Bangkok to Doha aboard a 777. Tatenda had a single suite, offering Qsuite's best privacy and a view from the window. Ready for some rest, Tatenda found his seat equipped with a comfortable blanket, pillows, and loungewear. Passengers are invited to ask the cabin crew to make the bed. After some rest, Tatenda enjoyed food from an à la carte menu. He chose braised beef short ribs with jus served with fondant potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus alongside a glass of Bordeaux. Afterward, Tatenda had cups of Moroccan mint tea to ease a cold picked up on holiday. But did Tatenda think the experience was worth investing in a business class upgrade? He concluded his flight review by attesting to the quality of the experience, and the excitement all premium travelers in the Middle East have regarding the upcoming Qsuite Next-Gen: "The Qsuite experience was everything I expected it to be. The seat and bed were very comfortable, and the crew’s friendliness and attentiveness made for an unforgettable journey. With the ‘Qsuite Next-gen’ coming soon, I can’t wait to experience it when I get the chance." Qatar Is Set To Face Stiffer Opposition In reaching the top of Skytrax's business class seat rankings, Qatar had to fend off strong opposition from two Japanese Airlines: All Nippon Airways (2nd place) and Japan Airlines (3rd place). This competition will only intensify with ANA, which announced a new business class product called 'THE Room FX' during the Paris Air Show. This product, a supersized seat, has been developed in collaboration with Safran Seats (France) and Acumen (UK). 'THE Room FX' is ANA's first business class seat refresh for its mid-sized fleet in over a decade. It will be constructed around a sofa-style configuration, ideal for comfortable lounging, rather than a reclining seat. Tomoji Ishii, Executive Vice President of Customer Experience at ANA, said: "ANA is dedicated to providing the highest level of customer experience and is investing in the future of the most advanced and comfortable travel with the new 'THE Room FX' seat. This seat represents our commitment to exceeding expectations and shaping the future of luxury flight." It is hard to know exactly where ANA will deploy its new product once it has been launched. A reasonable assumption is that customers can access it on ANA's existing premium-heavy routes, particularly those that already support 787-9. Examples may include routes to cities like Frankfurt, Paris, Houston, Los Angeles, Seattle, Munich, Sydney, Perth, and Brussels.
