Raise your paws for this tail-wagging good time at Canons, Canines and Conservation — a fee-free day at Fort Moultrie, 1214 Middle St., Sullivan’s Island. All adorable pups are welcome to explore the historic park and take part in the family-friendly activities set up from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Sept. 27. Record the memory in a WWII B.A.R.K. Ranger-themed photo booth, raise a few pup cups with your bestie and have your four-legged friend officially sworn in as a B.A.R.K. Ranger. Incredible Con
Don your capes and prepare yourselves for another year of peak geekdom at the upcoming Incredible Con. This two-day event takes place at the Charleston Area Convention Center, 5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston, starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 27-28. Explore a slew of local exhibitors with comic books, anime and video game merchandise or take part in a cosplay contest with a special cash prize. Strap on your lederhosen and raise your steins, for Oktoberfest returns to Charleston with The Refinery’s second annual festival. German beer will stay on tap with the event taking place at The Refinery, 1640 Meeting Street Road, Charleston, from noon-5 p.m. Sept. 28. Experience and savor rich Bavarian cuisine and tasty German beers while you are serenaded by live German music. Enter into one of the seasonal contests to earn legendary fame at the event. General admission to the festivities is free and open to the public. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the second annual Tropical Fiesta. The groovy celebration hosted by Mount Pleasant takes place on the lawn of Mount Pleasant Town Hall at 100 Ann Edwards Lane and starts at 2 p.m. on Sept. 28. Bring picnic blankets and chairs to sprawl out on for the day and participate in the jam-packed agenda that ends at 7 p.m. Don’t forget your dancing shoes to groove to a live concert performed by Gino Castillo and the Latin Cowboys. MOJA Arts Festival
Experience the best of local arts and culture at the annual MOJA Arts Festival. This celebration of African American and Caribbean arts goes from Sept. 25-Oct. 5 at various locations around the Holy City. Starting Sept. 25, attend a special art exhibit at the City Gallery; make time for the opening day parade at Marion Square; or head to the opening reception featuring Rochelle Whitney Green at the Cannon Street Arts Center. The next week will feature reggae and jazz performances with guest artists, inspiring gospel concerts, powerful dance productions and more. On Oct. 1, check out the annual MOJA Block Party that takes over Ann Street between King and Meeting streets.
