These three-night deals across Ireland are ideal for an autumn getaway

As autumn draws in and the summer holidays are over, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. I’ve found some Irish hotels offering great value deals to help you slip away for a short break over the coming months.

I’ve something for everyone from a romantic castle stay, a family break or a fun weekend with friends in every corner of Ireland.

Original Irish Hotels has a collection of 50 unique and independent castles, manor houses and boutique hotels to choose from and this winter, there’s value too, with an exclusive three-night winter offer.

The Headfort Arms in Kells is at the heart of the Boyne Valley and the perfect place to explore all those lovely autumnal activities around the Puca Festival.

Starting at just €249 for two people, you get three nights’ accommodation, a full Irish breakfast each morning and a late checkout on your final day so you can really relax.

At this price, you can get two rooms and bring the family to explore Emerald Park and Newgrange on your doorstep.

For the same value, pop up to Donegal and stay at the family run Arnolds Hotel. This gem is nestled against the Wild Atlantic Way coastline with incredible views and it’s the perfect spot to explore beauty spots such as Marble Hill Beach and Glenveagh Castle and National Park.

A three-night stay at Knockranny House Hotel in Westport is an ideal spot for a girlie trip with a spa, pool and thermal suites.

Westport is a great town for the craic year-round and with two sharing, a three-night stay works out at less than €50 per person per night.

Another favourite hotel of mine with incredible spa facilities is Fitzgerald’s Woodland House Hotel outside the picturesque town of Adare in Co Limerick.

As well as tranquil treatment rooms, Turkish Mud Rasul Chamber and a hair salon, Fitzgerald’s has a 20m indoor heated swimming pool. Revas Spa also boasts a thermal suite which includes a foot spa, sensation showers, herb sauna and outdoor hot tubs. I highly recommend the food here and there is a gorgeous outdoor café at the Treehouse and kids will love the pumpkin patch and petting zoo.

Also offering this great rate of three nights’ B&B for two people from €299 is The Pembroke in the heart of Kilkenny.

Every time I go to this city I find more amazing shops to explore and restaurants to dine in. It’s a cracking town halfway between Cork and Dublin so ideal for friends meeting up from different parts of the country.

Randles Hotel in Killarney is also offering the same rate for a three-night stay. I was in Killarney recently and have to say it has a buzzing atmosphere.

Kerry is a terrific county for hosting various festivals and this autumn is no exception with the Dingle Food Festival in October and Literary Festival always a big draw in November.

If you want to stay in the heart of it then Dingle Benners Hotel in the town centre is also taking part in the €299 deal for two people.

If you have a special occasion that you’d like to celebrate this autumn then why not do it in style and stay in a castle? For that romantic getaway or wedding anniversary, Kilronan Castle Estate and Spa in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands is a luxurious option.

A three-night stay this autumn for two people starts from €499. With plenty of those little extras to make your break unforgettable you can indulge in afternoon tea and sit by the fire.

There’s much to see in this part of the country with The Shed Distillery, home to Gunpowder Irish Gin, close by in Drumshambo. Ireland’s last working coal mine is only 15 minutes away at the Arigna Mining Experience and a trip to Carrick-on-Shannon the same.

The Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan has a wonderful golf course and is a favourite for families too. Three nights here will set you back €499 also for two people and it’s close to many other attractions such as the Cuilcaigh Lakelands Geopark and Marble Arch Caves.

Also in the region is the Killyhevlin Hotel on Lough Erne – a water taxi ride away to Ireland’s only island city, Enniskillen. Surprisingly, this gorgeous four-star hotel is in the €299 offer for three nights this autumn.

Who doesn’t love Connemara? Clifden is one of the best towns to explore this part of the country and the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel lights up this time of year.

The grounds are swamped with lush gardens and inside the castle the cosy fireplaces are set alight. The singsongs in the piano bar in the evenings are legendary. It’s the perfect spot to escape for three nights this autumn and also in the €299 for two offer.

It’s always nice to have something to look forward to as the darker nights draw in and we are fortunate in Ireland to have so many hotels to choose from.

To try one of those that I’ve mentioned, and any of the 50 that are in this offer, you’ll need to book quickly to get your chosen dates. It’s also important to note that the offer is subject to availability on the Original Irish Hotels site only.
