The Ultra-Slim Motorola Edge 70 is Arriving on November 5

The launch date for the Motorola Edge 70 is now officially confirmed, setting the stage for the device’s global debut on November 5. The company itself provided the confirmation via a section on its website, validating earlier rumors regarding a release next month. This announcement draws immediate attention to the phone’s primary feature: its slender profile.
The Edge 70 measures less than 6mm thin. The device will establish it as Motorola’s slimmest non-folding smartphone to date. This measurement represents a significant milestone, placing the phone in a very exclusive club of devices. This design profile places the device directly into a category of ultra-thin models currently being explored by competitors like Apple and Samsung.
The Motorola Edge 70 aims to offer a high-end experience despite its slim form factor. According to reports, the phone will be available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Still, it won’t be a typical premium flagship. So far, Samsung and Apple have targeted the segment with expensive smartphones. This price, combined with the specs compromises inherent to its ultra-slim form factor, doesn’t seem to be motivating consumers.
A different “slim phone” strategy from Samsung and Apple’s
However, Motorola’s approach appears to be different. With an expected European price point of around €690, the device is positioned below traditional flagship costs. This strategy places the Motorola Edge 70 in a unique segment: a premium-designed, ultra-thin phone offered at a mid-range price. This is perhaps the most crucial variable in the Edge 70’s launch. Motorola aims to undercut more expensive alternatives and make the ultra-slim design accessible to a broader consumer base.
Returning to the spec sheet, the device’s camera system also looks compelling and is designed for versatility. It centers on a 50MP main sensor equipped with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), along with a rumored 120-degree ultra-wide lens. Among other expected features, there is a pair of stereo speakers boosted by Dolby Atmos technology. So, the handset promises to deliver an immersive audio experience that is often lacking in midrange offerings.
Furthermore, the Motorola Edge 70 will be available in multiple color options. The list includes distinctive Pantone-certified shades like Lily Pad and Bronze Green. It’s possible the company will not only offer different colors but also distinctive textures. Motorola is known for playing with the finishes of its mobile devices.
Will the brand be able to reverse the trend of little interest in slim phones? We’ll have to wait for the Motorola Edge 70 release date to find out.
