Harley Cameron was thrilled to find out about the AEW Women's Tag Team Championships, and even more excited about the idea of teaming with Willow Nightingale. "I was saying to many people, actually, that I've always looked up to Willow through my entire career," Cameron says. Joining AEW in 2022 and first aligned with QT Marshall's QTV stable as a heel, she's created her own lane as a fan favorite since the beginning of this year, aligning with AEW Women's Champion Kris Statlander. She credits Nightingale as a supportive force for her since joining the company, calling it an honor to join with her. "She was there from the get-go for me, and it feels surreal being with her, and it's very nice to be with someone who I feel has very, I don't know, just this similar energy and work ethic, and I feel like we're very aligned, and I feel like we're a good fit." "I think this same wavelength thing," Willow Nightingale says, "When the titles first got announced, before there was even any brackets or anything like that, but together. I think we were in the same boat where we were both like, 'All right, so I have a lot of people that I'm friendly with. I have a few people in mind to be my partner, but I'm not 100% sure who I want to saddle up with.' Luckily, we were able to find each other." Cameron and Nightingale, now known as The Babes of Wrath, bring a fun, different flare to their wrestling presentation, something Nightingale has focused on throughout her career. A former TBS Champion and winner of the 203 Women's Owen Hart Cup, Nightingale uses her personal philosophy of "nothing matters, smile anyway" to ground her and keep focused on what really matters: presence and joy in the moment, something that Cameron finds herself drawn to. "We're very different in many ways, but we're also very similar in a lot of ways," Cameron says. "I think that without sounding corny, there's this energy about Willow that I just gravitate to. Just her as a whole, you feel so happy and warm and positive and like, enlightened to be around her. I think that I have always been attracted to anything in life that is that. I think she personifies all those wonderful qualities. I think it's very cool because we are different in certain aspects, especially the way we deliver in the ring, the way that we present ourselves on camera sometimes, but I do think that there is that chemistry that's undeniable and that very similar spirit. We've gelled very quickly. A lot of people have said to us that it doesn't feel like we were just a brand-new team. I feel like we're really finding our groove, and we're working well together. I'm very excited about it." "Sometimes I have really wacky off-the-wall ideas, and a lot of people just look at me like, 'What?'," Nightingale says. "But even the other day, we did this thing in the ring where we just were like - it was a silly little wiggle that we did, and Harley was like, 'yeah, I'm into it. Let's do it.' Something as simple as those bright colors that we have in our matching gear is like - not everybody's going to be into that or be like, 'yeah, let's do something bright and colorful.' So along with everything that Harley was saying, it's just more of that synergy." Although the duo discusses some alternative names to The Babes of Wrath - "Babes of Sandwich Eating" was a close second for them - they remain committed and synergistically connected in their pursuit of becoming the inaugural AEW Women's Tag Team Champions. Although the "Babes of Sandwich Eating" name didn't stick, Cameron wants fans to stick around for a surprise after their win. "I'm going to put this into the universe right now that when we progress, because I'm manifesting, I am going to show you the sandwich," Cameron says. "I'm going to eat it, I'm going to post it, and I'm going to keep you guessing. But I don't want to give it your way right now because I want you to have that to look forward to, and I want you to manifest and put the energy into the universe with us so that we progress."
