Lots of us have asked ourselves, are we more a Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, or Miranda? And it turns out Dermot Bannon has as well!
The architect turned TV star was recently asked which fictional character he most identifies with, and he gave two surprising answers.
Dermot told the Irish Independent that he relates the most to Marty Byrde from Ozark and one of the Sex And The City ladies.
Dermot revealed he’s a Samantha, and we have to wonder, is it their shared appreciation of high-rise apartments that he relates to?
Elsewhere in his chat, Dermot spoke about working on TV and the guilty pleasure that resides in the garden of his and wife Louise’s Dublin home.
Revealing how he relaxes each week, Dermot said his guilty pleasure is the sauna in his garden, saying: ‘I have a sauna at the end of the garden that I absolutely adore. I use it once a week and it’s my ‘me time’.’
It’s no surprise that Dermot’s hidden sanctuary is a sauna, as he has opened up about how swimming and staying close to the water has benefitted with his health.
The Dublin native works long days and nights for his career, but cherishes his family time as much as he can, calling his wife and kids his ‘most prized possession’.
Elsewhere in the chat, Dermot spoke about his insecurities, saying that being on TV has made him think about his appearance and that he doesn’t like watching himself on screen.
‘Doing the job I do shines a light on you, so I’m insecure about how I look. I see myself on television and think I shouldn’t have worn something because it makes my stomach stick out,’ he said.
And in true Dermot style, when asked who he would want to play himself in an autobiography of his life, the clear choice was ‘Austin Butler, although the thought of somebody playing me horrifies me.
