Halloween may still be a month away, but some people are more than ready for Christmas and will likely be doing everything they can to ensure that they’re on Santa’s nice list. Across social media, people are gearing up for the festivities, getting organised and purchasing gifts, sharing photos of decorations they’ve spotted in shops , and even popping Christmas tunes on their playlists. So when shoppers noticed The Range had issued a Christmas appeal, nobody was surprised by the seasonal content. However, what appeared on their Facebook feeds left people absolutely stunned and in fits of laughter. The Range wrote in a post : “Listen, what you do with your props at home is your business… But in our stores?” accompanied by a smirking emoji. They went on: “The elves have formed a union and are officially concerned. “Love the laughs and your festive creativity… but for those shoppers getting a bit too jolly, The Range naughty list is about to launch!” After their message, they shared several photos displaying their Halloween and Christmas decorations arranged in rather suggestive positions. An inflatable Santa was captured bending over to collect a gift, whilst a gingerbread man appeared uncomfortably close behind him, looking rather pleased with himself. Additionally, some reindeer had been positioned in a particularly inappropriate manner, with one lying flat on the shelf whilst another was positioned on top. Some individuals humorously suggested that it was “bored boyfriends and husbands” who had been creating these mischievous displays while their unsuspecting partners were shopping for home decor items. Another person commented that after seeing this post, people were now thinking “challenge accepted,” with the intention of going into stores to rearrange displays themselves for a bit of fun. “Good to see some people with a sense of humour,” one individual penned. Others reminisced about their own youthful antics, joking that they would have certainly made it onto the elusive “naughty list”. “When we were kids, we used to hide the kitchen timers around stores and set them all to go off at different times,” one woman confessed. Another responded: “That’s not as good as setting a screensaver password and login password on the laptops in Curry’s”. One person shared an even more embarrassing story than those from The Range, revealing: “About 15 years ago, my partner managed to hack the Currys TV passwords (or something like that, I’m not techy!) and put a pic of my boobs (with a bra on and not my face showing, I hasten to add! ) on all the TV screens. It was kinda funny watching people do a double-take when they saw it”. A mum recounted how she’d unintentionally activated a bunch of toys in a store, writing: “Well without realising it I set off a whole batch of baby electronic toys! “I’m one of those adults, if there’s a try me button, I’m pressing it. I didn’t know they’re called linked up or something like that. “There must have been twenty of them playing music! Luckily, a member of staff started laughing when I shouted to my daughter ‘Oh heck, I’ve set the whole lot off.”
