The Osbournes Share Donald Trump's Voicemail Tribute for Ozzy

The Osbourne family recorded their first podcast since the death of Ozzy Osbourne earlier this year and detailed some of the most surprising messages they received in the wake of his passing. “Should we play the voicemail?” Jack Osbourne asked his mom, Sharon Osbourne, and sister Kelly Osbourne in the Wednesday, November 12, episode. “I’m not saying who it’s from, everyone will know.” After pushing play, a message rang out in a voice that sounded very familiar to American listeners. “Hi Sharon, it’s Donald Trump, and I just wanted to wish you the best and the family,” the president, 79, said in the message, seemingly recorded shortly after Ozzy’s July death. “Ozzy was amazing, he was an amazing guy. I met him a few times and I wanted to tell you he was unique in every way and talented.” Trump continued, “So, I just wanted to wish you the best. And it’s a tough thing, I know how close you were. And whatever I can do. Take care of yourself. Say hello to the family. Thanks, bye.” Ozzy died on July 22 at age 76 after a yearslong battle with Parkinson’s disease. His cause of death was later determined as a heart attack. On Wednesday, Jack, 40, noted that Trump seemed to genuinely mean the best with his message, saying, “Love him or hate him, he didn’t have to call and leave a voicemail.” Sharon, 73, praised the president for taking a moment to send well-wishes. She previously worked with Trump on season 9 of The Celebrity Apprentice, which aired in 2010. “Listen, when it comes to politics, we know nobody comes out a winner,” she said. “All I know is a man that I know, I worked with for a month, I spent one month with him and his wife, who was always gracious, elegant, just a delight to talk to his wife, and he was always, ‘How are the children, how’s Kelly, I’m so proud of Kelly and Jack for what they’ve done and their manners are great.’ And he was just a great guy to talk to. And he has always treated me with respect.” Sharon went on to note that she didn’t vote for Trump as she’s not an American citizen and can’t vote in the country’s elections. “Listen, I’m not American. I can’t vote, I don’t want to vote, I don’t vote for anyone. I vote for no one. Never have, never will,” she explained. “But the thing is, all I know is he’s treated me with respect, your father with respect, he wanted nothing from us. Melania, the same, nothing. And they have been great.” The former Talk cohost then began tearing up, adding, “And for him to take his time to do that for us, and because you know what? He doesn’t live in a bubble. He knows what’s going on in the streets. He knows what is going on. And I can’t say that for our prime minister. Again, for President Trump and Melania, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” While Sharon didn’t have anything else to add about British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Jack noted that the family received “a lovely letter” from King Charles III. “Our king, now we’re talking. Our king, he’s an amazing person,” Sharon gushed. “Not just because he wrote to us when Ozzy passed, but if he did it for us, you know he does it for many, many, many people.” She added that Charles, 79, previously reached out to the family on other occasions over the years. “He didn’t have to do certain things that he’s done for Ozzy in the past. Ozzy’s birthday, when Ozzy was sick in hospital with the motorbike accident, he reached out,” Sharon said. “He is a good, caring man with a good heart. And Ozzy, as me, we’re royalists, and that’s it. We respect him, we respect his family, and that’s it. And he, again, took the time out of his day to write us, have it hand-delivered to us, a note from the king for Ozzy’s passing with his condolences, and that says so much.”
