The OrthoNebraska Athlete of the Week is Millard North softball pitcher Jadyn Pokorny, who tossed a one-hit shutout to help the Mustangs win the Metro Conference tournament title.
“It starts in the circle with her keeping them off-balance,” Mustang coach Travis Unzicker said after the 10-0 win over Papillion-La Vista. “Then we get ahead 6-0 and we just keep adding to it.”
Pokorny, a junior, is 6-1 with a 2.12 ERA. She’s batting .345 with five home runs.
“Jadyn is a huge piece to our team success in the circle and batting,” Unzicker said. “She is constantly working to get better and be a great teammate.”
