For more than 35 years, Therese Moylan has been a trusted name in professional skincare, and for the past 25 years, she has built a thriving clinic in Woodquay. Where others followed industry fashions, Moylan stood apart, developing a reputation for her expertise in electrolysis and in treating complex skin conditions, interests rooted in her early training under the respected Galway specialist Catherine Hayes.

Therese’s daughter Maria, joined during the pandemic, changing course from law studies to pursue skincare as her vocation. Now fully qualified in electrolysis and oncology aesthetics, and studying business management alongside her clinical work, Maria represents both the continuity of her mother’s vision and the future of the business.
Central to that vision is electrolysis, an area where Therese and Maria are leading the way in Ireland. The clinic is the only one in the country with a low-frequency electrolysis machine sourced from Canada, a system Moylan describes as “a game-changer.” The technology has delivered outstanding results for men and women seeking permanent hair removal, drawing clients from across the region.
Equally vital is the clinic’s work with problem skin. Acne, rosacea, dermatitis and barrier disorders are treated with a meticulous, personalised approach. As Ireland’s only qualified corneotherapists, Therese and Maria design bespoke topical treatments for each client, restoring long-term skin health rather than applying quick fixes. “A one-size approach does not fit all,” says Therese. “Your skin is like a fingerprint, it’s completely unique.”
That ethos has inspired the clinic’s newest chapter: the launch of Smoother Skin, Therese’s own skincare brand created to treat rosacea and acne. Years in development with UK formulators, the range will debut in-clinic, with plans to supply other skincare centres nationwide in the near future.
