For generations, Jim Henson’s creations have taught us that “things are not always what they seem.” Now, fans can own a piece of that wondrous world. The Jim Henson Company and Julien’s Auctions have announced a historic collaboration for the first-ever official auction of the company’s treasured archives. Titled The Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction, which coincides with what would have been Jim Henson’s 89th birthday, will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. The auction will be held live at The Jim Henson Company’s Hollywood headquarters and online at juliensauctions.com.
For the first time, select puppets, props, and memorabilia from The Jim Henson Company’s extensive archive will be made available to the public. This collection of over 400 rare and important items will offer fans, institutions, and collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of the visionary worlds that Jim Henson built.
From his groundbreaking work in puppetry to his innovation in film and television, Jim Henson’s creations have become cultural icons. With beloved characters from The Muppets to the fantastical creatures of Fraggle Rock and Labyrinth, his legacy has spanned more than seven decades, continuing to impact entertainment, education, and pop culture today.

Heading to the auction will be the iconic Naia Drenchen Gelfling full-body puppet used in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (estimate: $15,000 – $25,000). The Naia puppet includes her entire torso as well as a pair of legs, the Gelflings’ blue and green skin tones, identifiable bumps on her forehead, fin-like scalloped ears, and hooded costume. Naia is first seen in the fourth episode of the Emmy-winning series, The First Thing I Remember is Fire, after her twin brother, Gurjin, disappears. Other highlighted items from the 2019 prequel series include sword props used by Rian (estimate: $3,000-$5,000) and Ordon (estimate: $1,000-$2,000); skekGra the Heretic Circle of the Suns’ Skeksis chair (estimate: $4,000-$6,000), dagger and baton props (estimate: $2,000-$3,000), and Maudra Fara’s axe prop (estimate: $1,000-$2,000).

A limited-edition hardcover auction catalog, or “book,” is available for pre-order, featuring hundreds of color illustrations, archival photographs, and behind-the-scenes stories.
