Denia will host the first edition of ArteManía, the International Festival of Art, Creativity and Crafts, from Friday October 3 to Sunday October 5 at Baleària Port.
The new initiative has been launched with the ambition of becoming an annual meeting point for creators from around the world. It will bring together artisans, painters, designers, masters and artists from multiple disciplines to showcase their work and exchange ideas.
According to the organisers, guests will include artists’ associations from Latvia and Italy, as well as creators from France, Ukraine and other European nations. Masters from Spanish cities such as Malaga, Cadiz, Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia will also take part. Local artists from Denia, La Marina Alta and the Valencian Community will feature prominently, highlighting the richness of the region’s creativity.
ArteManía is presented as “a space where people can discover the diversity of creative directions and connect with the cultures of different countries, united by a shared love of art”.
Full programme
The programme will be broad, offering art and craft exhibitions, creative workshops, seminars and networking opportunities. It is not only aimed at professionals or collectors but also at the general public, who will be able to enjoy a lively and festive atmosphere.
At the covered esplanade of Baleària Port, tents will host children’s and amateur workshops, hat design contests, painting and craft competitions, as well as live music. A food truck area will provide a varied culinary offer. “Every day of the festival will be full of activities, so that everyone can find something special,” say the organisers.
Meanwhile, the Multiespai L’Androna hall will accommodate the stalls of artisans and artists. The selection will include jewellery, accessories, decorative objects, sculpture, dolls, miniatures and teddy bears.
Focus on recycled materials
A distinctive feature of the festival will be its focus on ecological and recycled materials. Visitors will discover restored furniture transformed into unique pieces, lamps created from recycled components, and fashion made from reused fabrics. The organisers underline: “These projects not only inspire but also show the importance of conscious consumption, shaping a new generation of art that unites beauty and responsibility.”
Denia was chosen as the venue thanks to its cultural heritage, international atmosphere and long-standing reputation as the gastronomic capital of the Costa Blanca. The driving force behind the project has lived in the city for over a decade, dedicating her efforts to supporting artists, bringing people together and encouraging new initiatives.
The ultimate goal is to establish ArteManía as an annual event and, in the future, to create a gallery of applied arts and a permanent museum of creativity and crafts in Denia.
