Entertainment Critic and Vice President of pressure group Foundation of Creative Arts Professionals (FOCAP), Enock Agyapong has taken a swipe at the current government for failing to honor promises made to the creative industry while campaigning for power.
Speaking in an interview on Top Showbiz with Londona on Saturday, September 13, 2025, Mr. Agyapong emphasized the impact of the creative sector cannot be downplayed by any political party who wants to score cheap political point with empty promises.
According to him there has been little progress happening within the creative sector but nothing significant to celebrate since the National Democratic Party (NDC) government came took power about nine months ago.
Enock Agyapong further added that the current president’s manifesto promise of building new theatres in the various Regions is also yet to be realized, raising much concerns from industry players about the continuous neglect of Ghana’s entertainment sector.
‘They said they were going to build a new National Theatre in Kumasi and renovate the National Theatre in Accra yet we have heard nothing about those projects’
He called on the John Dramani Mahama government to release funds meant to fuel the creative sector if it really means well for the creative sector and the thousands of people working within the space.
“Our eye is on the ball… and we are going to make sure the government delivers all promises made to the creative industry”, Enock Agyapong added.
