The Guess Who announces first tour in 23 years: ‘We can’t wait to see you'

The Guess Who is reuniting for the band’s first tour in 23 years. The classic rock band will embark on the “Takin’ It Back” tour next year, featuring original guitarist Randy Bachman and singer-keyboardist Burton Cummings. “CANADA! Are you ready? The Guess Who are coming to a city near you with their Takin’ It Back tour!,” the band wrote in an Instagram post Monday. We can’t wait to see you next year as Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings reunite as The Guess Who for the first time in 23 years!" The Canadian Music Hall of Fame group will play a dozen concerts across Canada in the spring. The tour will kick off May 26, 2026 at Avenir Centre in Moncton and make additional stops in Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton before concluding on June 10, 2026 in Edmonton. Don Felder, former lead guitarist for the Eagles, will be the supporting act. “With their unmatched songwriting catalog and deep influence on rock music, this moment marks a rare and meaningful full-circle return — one that longtime fans have been waiting for, and one that underscores just how enduring their legacy continues to be," a statement on The Guess Who’s website reads. Ticket pre-sales start Tuesday with a general sale beginning Friday at 10 a.m. local. The Guess Who will also perform at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 19 and the PNE Fair on Aug 23. All tickets can be found through The Guess Who’s website. The Guess Who is a hard rock/psychedelic rock band best known for hits from the late 1960s-70s such as “Shakin’ All Over,” “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature” and “Undun.” Bachman, 82, and Cummings, 77, were the group’s principal songwriters. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Cummings terminated certain rights agreements on Guess Who songs last year to stop a new version of the band, featuring classic-era members Jim Kale and Garry Peterson, from performing them live. The “risky and unconventional legal maneuvering” gave Bachman and Cummings control of The Guess Who name. Cummings and Bachman last performed as The Guess Who in 2003, but occasionally collaborated under the name Bachman-Cummings. The 2026 edition of The Guess Who is expected to feature Cummings, Bachman, Sean Fitzsimons (drums, vocals), Jeff Jones (bass, vocals), Nick Sinopoli (percussion, vocals), Tim Bovaconti (guitar, vocals) and Joe Augello (guitar, vocals). Bachman, the father of “She’s So High” singer Tal Bachman, also recently revived Bachman-Turner Overdrive, touring as BTO in 2023. The “Takin’ Care of Business” rock band released its first new song since 1984 in April, shouting out Cummings and Neil Young in the lyrics.
