The BBC has announced that they’ve renewed Graham Norton’s contract to continue hosting his flagship talk show for the next three years.
Since 2007, the Irish presenter has been fronting The Graham Norton Show for the BBC, and has come to be known for securing the most A-list of guests from across the world of movies, music, TV, sport and, on the odd occasion, politics.
After its 33rd season got underway last month, it was announced on Monday morning that Graham would remain at the BBC for at least three more years.
He enthused: “Getting to host my own chat show is a huge pleasure as well as a privilege. I’m thrilled that the BBC are allowing me to continue for another three years.
“The whole team is looking forward to bringing the world’s brightest stars into the homes of the great British public!”
In the last few years, Graham has notably pursued more work outside of the BBC, stepping down from Radio 2 to launch a new show on Virgin Radio and fronting ITV’s reboot of Wheel Of Fortune.
However, the five-time Bafta winner does also still have several projects at the BBC in addition to his talk show, most notably the UK edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race and the Eurovision Song Contest, on which he’s served as our national commentator since 2009.
The BBC’s head of entertainment Kalpna Patel-Knight said of the new announcement: “We are thrilled that The Graham Norton Show will remain a flagship part of the BBC’s entertainment offering for another three series.
“Graham sets the gold standard for celebrity interviews and continues to attract the best global talent to his sofa, it’s no wonder that the show remains so beloved by our audiences.”
Upcoming guests on the current series of The Graham Norton Show in the near future include Julia Roberts, Robbie Williams, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Farrell, Bruce Springsteen, Jeremy Allen White, Jennifer Lawrence and Tessa Thompson.
