The Globe's 'Future of Medicine Summit' at Harvard Med Wednesday

The second annual Future of Medicine Summit sponsored by The Boston Globe is an all day affair devoted to medical advancements and future trends in healthcare and is scheduled to kick off Wednesday morning at Harvard Medical in Boston.
Globe reporters and editors will moderate seven 30-minute sessions with leading healthcare professionals and industry pioneers who will share insights on cutting edge medical innovations.
The panel discussions range from talks about the “Ozempic Era: Rethinking Medicine, Metabolism, and the Market,” to “The New Face of Cancer,” to “Aging, Reimagined.”
The panels and conversations also will address emerging trends, breakthroughs in medical technology, and challenges within the healthcare industry.
The summit begins at 10 a.m. at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical, 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, and runs until 4 p.m.

Registration is required for in-person or virtual attendance at Globe.com/futureofmedicine.
Among the researchers, business leaders, academics, and innovators joining the discussions are David Liu, a Harvard professor, and Robert Langer, co-founder of Moderna and an MIT professor.
Liu is a Breakthrough Prize Winner in Life Sciences, and core member of the Broad Institute. He will open the event with a fireside chat about potential cures for a wide range of genetic diseases, their real-world impact, and how advancements are shaping the future of medicine.
Langer’s fireside chat will explore the next big opportunities in health and biotech.
