'The Faithful' Sets Cast For Final Installment Of Fox Biblical Series

Millie Brady (Surface), Blu Hunt (Sherlock & Daughter), James Purefoy (Rome), Will Stevens (The Thursday Murder Club) and Taylor Napier (The Wheel of Time) are set as leads for the third and final installment of Fox‘s Biblical drama series The Faithful. Tom Payne (The Walking Dead) also returns to reprise his role as Jacob in the final episode which airs on Easter Sunday, April 5.
Based on The Old Testament’s Book of Genesis, The Faithful is about discovering and losing love, the challenges of marriage, the joys and heartbreak of children, confronting temptation and finding faith. The story is told through five of The Old Testament’s most legendary women: Sarah and her servant Hagar, Sarah’s great-niece Rebekah, and Rebekah’s nieces, sisters Leah and Rachel.
Brady plays Leah, the eldest daughter of Laban. Hunt portrays Rachel, the free-spirited and fiercely ambitious younger daughter of Laban and sister of Leah. Purefoy is Laban, the patriarch of a complicated household and the older brother of Rebekah. Stevens portrays temperamental Birham, who, much like his father Laban, prefers fun over tending the flock. Payne returns as Jacob, the son of Rebekah and Isaac and now betrothed to Rachel.

Previously announced cast includes Minnie Driver as Sarah, Jeffrey Donovan as Abraham, Natacha Karam as Hagar, Alexa Davalos as Rebekah, Tom Mison as Isaac, Tom Payne as Jacob, and Ben Robson as Esau.
Per the logline: The Faithful unfolds through the interwoven stories of five legendary women of the Bible’s Old Testament whose lives were marked by quests for independence, deep-seeded desires and the desperate need for something far greater than they have ever known. Sarah, desperate for a child, takes an impassioned and complicated step through Hagar that forever alters her family’s path before experiencing an unexpected miracle late in life. Rebekah, intent on securing her favored child’s destiny, intervenes in her sons’ lives, setting into motion a legacy of sibling rivalry and division. And once inseparable sisters, Leah and Rachel become rivals in love and motherhood, building a fractured but foundational family whose descendants will carry the weight of history. Through longing, sacrifice, and perseverance, these women leave an enduring imprint on a story much bigger than their own.
The series, which films in Rome and Matera, Italy, airs on Fox and next day on Hulu.
Carol Mendelsohn (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Julie Weitz (Game of Silence) and Rene Echevarria (Carnival Row) serve as executive producers. The Faithful comes from Fox Entertainment Studios and is distributed worldwide by Fox Entertainment Global.
