The Western epic is making its way to Omaha this October.
Omaha film historian Bruce Crawford is joining cast member Robert Carradine for a special screening of “The Cowboys” on Oct. 24 at the Omaha Community Playhouse.
The event celebrates the iconic film featuring John Wayne, Roscoe Lee Brown and Bruce Dern, while benefitting a local cause.

Fans will be able to gather together to celebrate the 1972 film featuring Wayne as rancher Wil Andersen, who works with a group of inexperienced boys to get his cattle herd to the market.
Caradine, who made his debut in “The Cowboys” as Slim Honeycutt, will begin the night with a guest appearance at 7 p.m. before the screening begins.
Afterwards, fans will have the chance to participate in a meet and greet with Caraddine, who also played Lewis Skolnick in the “Revenge of the Nerds” films.
Besides Crawford and Caradine, Brian Downes from the John Wayne Birthplace Museum will be in attendance.
Wayne was born about two hours away from Omaha in Winterest, Iowa. He went on to play Ringo Kid in the 1956 “The Stagecoach” and over 160 other roles.
Tickets for the event are on sale now for $30 per person. Proceeds go towards the Jet Award Foundation. Former Husker Johnny Rodgers is one of the founders of the Jet Award, which was first given out in 2011 and honors the top return specialist in college football. The foundation also provides scholarships.
