The Block fan favourites Britt and Taz have come to the defence of co-stars Sonny and Alicia after the pair were targeted by vicious online trolls.
The West Australian couple have admitted that while tensions on the show are high, they do not support any form of hate being directed at their fellow contestants.
‘We absolutely do not condone any comments from trolls and stuff like that. We deal with mental health on a daily basis with our work. Cyberbullying and trolling is one of the very big excesses on mental health,’ Taz told Yahoo Lifestyle.
‘It just absolutely takes a toll and deteriorates people. So we do not condone any of that. We do feel for Sonny and Alicia, who are copping the brunt of it.’
Sonny and Alicia have faced relentless trolling throughout this year’s season, with criticism targeting them both professionally and personally, with their home design skills – and fiery personalities – frequently being criticised.
So severe has the online hate been that The Block’s official social media accounts last week issued a stern warning, declaring that ‘personal attacks, negativity and trolling will not be tolerated’.

Speaking about the backlash, Alicia admitted her time on the show has not gone according to plan.
She explained that her strong personality and willingness to speak her mind has made her a target.
‘I feel like the trolls feel like it’s okay to just come and say whatever they want to me and think that I’m this nasty person when I’m not,’ she said.
While Britt and Alicia were once close friends, their relationship has cooled due to some fiery on-screen clashes, and the pair now behave as distant colleagues rather than the BFFs they once were.
However, Britt emphasised that despite the tension, all contestants remain professional and ‘civil’.
Taz added it was getting harder by the day to mend their once strong friendship.
‘You’re hearing people talk about you behind your back, but stuff they alleged, “We’d say to your face,” was never said to our face,’ he said.
Even with their differences, Britt and Taz are clear on one thing: online abuse has no place in the competition.

It’s just the latest scandal to hit the heated 2025 season.
The season has already seen Britt and Taz accused of ruthlessly sabotaging their rivals by sneering at kitchens and bedrooms during inspections, as well as fresh feuds over free timber supplies.
Veteran host Scott Cam, 62, has been working hard to keep tensions in line and has not been shy at reprimanding misbehaving contestants.
What began as a grilling over Mat and Robby’s controversial wine cellar quickly spiralled into a fresh scandal – this time with Britt and Taz in the firing line.
Sonny accused Taz of hogging up to $15,000 worth of free timber from the sawmill, sparking a furious row.
