Alexis Smart’s flower essences were brought up by both Sperry and acupuncturist Zoe Brown. Brown, who prescribes these to her patients for emotional support and stress regulation, says you can’t go wrong gifting the First Aid Kit (for calming nerves) or My Personal Assistant (for boosting energy). Sperry is partial to the beauty formulas, which target things like acne, anti-aging, and rosacea. Her favorite, the No. 7 for acne, is “as essential to my skin-care routine as tretinoin,” she says. Olive oil was brought up by two nutritionists I spoke to — Ayala and Daphne Javitch — for its health benefits (anti-inflammatory effects, improved cardiovascular health, and antioxidant properties, to name a few). Go with one of their recommendations, both of which are cold pressed, hand-harvested, and high in polyphenols (a naturally occurring antioxidant found in olives).
