The Beast in Me release date, cast and trailer as Welsh star plays eerie lead

Netflix's upcoming thriller, The Beast in Me, has already sparked anticipation among fans following the release of its chilling trailer. The series, produced by renowned figures such as Jodie Foster and TV host Conan O'Brien, delves into the life of a reclusive author grappling with the tragic loss of her son. Aggie Wiggs, unable to write and a mere shadow of her former self, finds an unlikely muse for her new book - a man suspected of murder. Nile Jarvis, a celebrated real estate tycoon, was once the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance, and Aggie finds herself drawn perilously close to him. Here's everything you need to know about this eagerly awaited series, including its release date and star-studded cast. The series is set to make its global debut on Netflix on 13 November, with all eight episodes being released simultaneously. UK viewers will be able to tune in from 8am, while the US release is scheduled for 12am. Golden Globe-winning American actress Claire Danes, aged 46, takes on the role of Aggie Wiggs. She is most recognised for her performances in Homeland and Temple Grandin. Welsh actor Matthew Rhys, 50, known for his roles in The Americans and Brothers & Sisters, portrays Nile Jarvis. He was born in Cardiff but moved to London when he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He later returned to Cardiff to act in his own language in the Welsh film Bydd yn Wrol ( Be Brave ), for which he won Best Actor at the BAFTA Cymru. American actress Brittany Snow, 39, famed for her roles in Guiding Light, American Dreams and the Pitch Perfect film series, stars as Nina Jarvis, Nile's wife. Natalie Morales, known for her roles in Grey's Anatomy and The Middleman, portrays Shelley, Aggie's ex-wife. The guest cast features David Lyons as Brian Abbot, an FBI agent; Tim Guinee as Wrecking Ball, a formidable figure in Nile's life; Deirdre O'Connell as Carol McGiddish, Aggie's literary agent and confidante; Jonathan Banks as Martin Jarvis, Nile's father; Hettienne Park as Agent Erika Breton, an FBI agent collaborating with Abbott; Aleyse Shannon as Olivia Benitez, a city council member opposing Nile's business ventures; Will Brill as Chris Ingram, the brother of Nile's missing wife; Kate Burton as Mariah Ingram, the mother of Nile's missing wife; Bill Irwin as James Ingram, the father of Nile's missing wife; Amir Arison as Frank Breton, the ex-husband of FBI Agent Erika Breton; and Julie Ann Emery as Lila Jarvis, the wife of Martin Jarvis. In October, Netflix unveiled the full trailer, which features Aggie boldly questioning Nile about his ex-wife's murder. Nile insists on his innocence, and the more time Aggie spends with him, the murkier her judgement becomes. Simultaneously, viewers are given a glimpse into the emotional upheaval Aggie is experiencing following her devastating loss. Those closest to Aggie express concern for her safety as she becomes convinced that there's more to Nile than what appears on the surface. The Beast in Me will be available on Netflix from 13 November.
