A cake that is reportedly a sweet favorite holiday gift for Tom Cruise to send his friends, could cause some people to suffer an allergic reaction.
On Oct. 1, Doan’s Bakery of Woodland Hills, California, recalled two of its cakes that are sold on Goldbelly because they may contain wheat and milk – two known allergens – that are not listed as ingredients on the label.
The White Chocolate Coconut Cake and Carrot Cake were sold by Doan’s Bakery nationwide via Goldbelly from June 1 through Sept. 24.
The White Chocolate Coconut Cake in the past has been sent by Cruise as a holiday gift to his friends and family, according to Spectrum News.
On Goldbelly, Doan’s calls itself “LA’s Legendary Bakery to the Stars.”
“There’s a coveted gift each year among Hollywood’s A-List celebs officially known as Doan’s White Chocolate Coconut Cake, it’s a personal favorite of one famous actor, so much so that he sends it to friends and family nationwide each holiday season.
“Recipients include Barbara Walters, Jimmy Fallon, Cobie Smulders, Kirsten Dunst, Henry Cavill, James Corden, Angela Bassett, and plenty more.”
According to an announcement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recalled White Chocolate Coconut Bundt Cake is 3 pounds, 12 ounces, and contains wheat, soy, milk and eggs.

“This issue was discovered during a routine facility inspection on September 24, 2025. Doan’s Bakery took immediate corrective action, and updated labeling is now in place across all affected products.”
No illness have been reported.
According to Doan’s, the cake was created by Karen Doan, the founder of the bakery in 1984 that she now operates with her son, Eric.
The coconut cake sells for $109.95 and the carrot cake for $105.95.
“Doan’s Bakery has been featured on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ ‘The Graham Norton Show,’ ‘Entertainment Tonight,’ and ‘The View.’ Actress Cobie Smulders told Jimmy Fallon on the ‘Tonight Show’: ‘Tom Cruise will send you a cake during the holidays. It’s a white chocolate coconut cake and it’s unbelievable.’”
Doan’s says it is “their most famous creation, and for good reason. They start with a ring of moist, luxurious coconut bundt cake, mix in chunks of sweet white chocolate, layer on their rich cream cheese frosting, and then dust it all over with toasted coconut flakes.
“The result is an irresistible, pillowy cake that’s tasty enough to derail the strictest Hollywood diet.”
