'That’s What Good Teams Do': Divyanshu Kataria and Ronav Parekh Motani Reflect on Gritty Men’s Doubles Victory

Divyanshu Kataria and Ronav Parekh Motani walked away with the men’s doubles pro title at the Rise Up Championship – Pickleball By The Bay 2025, an IPA PWR 1000 event in Chennai. The duo said the experience was special. “We just won the men’s doubles pro at the Rise Up Championship held in Chennai. We had a great experience. It was a very well-organised tournament,” they reflected after the win. The final tested them against Aditya and Arjun Singh. “Shout out to Adi and Arjun, they played a great final and congratulations to them on their silver medal. We came out firing in the first set and played well. The second set we weren’t at our best, but we found a way to win — and that’s what good teams do. We’re so happy to get the job done,” the pair said. Kataria noted his own satisfaction at execution. “I’m really happy that I was able to execute what I had practised,” he added. The players credited their support system. “Thank you so much to Global Sports for sending us here. Thank you Shashank uncle, Hemal uncle, Neeraj uncle, Divyesh uncle, Suresh uncle and UV for believing in us and giving us countless opportunities to represent and express ourselves. This win is thanks to you all,” they said. The victory also carries weight in rankings. “Winning the men’s doubles in the PWR 1000 is going to help us with ranking points. It’s a pleasure to be a part of this event,” they explained. Looking ahead, their focus remains steady. “Nothing changes — we’re going step by step and looking forward to the next tournament, which is the PWR Nationals,” the pair concluded. Divyanshu Kataria & Ronav Parekh Motani Clinch Title, Edge Past Singh Brothers at Rise Up Championship Divyanshu Kataria and Ronav Parekh Motani clinched the men’s doubles crown on Saturday after a tense two-game battle. They beat Aditya Manoj Singh and Arjun Manoj Singh 11-6, 11-10 in the final. The first game was one-way traffic. Kataria and Motani kept the rallies short, forcing errors from the Singh brothers to close it 11-6. The second game was a thriller. Both pairs traded points deep into the frame. At 10-10, Kataria held serve under pressure and Motani finished the match with a sharp cross-court winner. The win gave Kataria and Motani the PWR 1000 title at the IPA-sanctioned event. For them, the key was consistency. They committed fewer unforced errors and kept the Singhs pinned at the baseline for long stretches. The Singh brothers fought hard, especially in the second game, but their late comeback fell short by a single point. Scoreline: Kataria/Motani bt. Singh/Singh 11-6, 11-10.
