While still weeks away from the holiday on November 27, the forecast highlights a “patchwork of weather” nationwide, with sunshine in the East, rain in the West, and limited snow in certain northern areas. Thanksgiving is the busiest US travel holiday, and weather disruptions can cause major delays. The American Automobile Association (AAA) expects tens of millions to travel, making this early forecast valuable for planning ahead. Thanksgiving Week Forecast by Region Northeast & Atlantic Corridor Northeast: Cold and mostly sunny. Northern New England could see some snow.Atlantic Corridor (e.g., NYC to Virginia): Mild early in the week, turning chilly but dry and clear by Thanksgiving. Southeast, Appalachians & Florida Appalachians: Cooler in the north, warmer in the south. The Old Farmer’s Almanac, founded in 1792, uses solar patterns, historical climate data, and meteorology to make long-range forecasts. It claims an accuracy rate of about 80%. “Our forecasts are best used for planning, not as a substitute for daily weather updates,” the Almanac says.
