Thamma Box Office Day 5: Ayushmann’s Film Crosses Rs 78.60 Crore, Beats Bhediya Lifetime Collection

Thamma Box Office Collection Day 5: According to early estimates from trade portal Sacnilk, Thamma earned Rs 13 crore on Saturday, taking its total to Rs 78.60 crore in India. The film’s Hindi occupancy stood at 19.72 per cent, indicating steady interest across theatres. Produced under Maddock Films, Thamma stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film marks another addition to Dinesh Vijan’s expanding horror-comedy universe, which already includes titles like Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. Interestingly, Thamma has already surpassed the lifetime business of Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya (Rs 68.99 crore) and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Rs 60.35 crore). Thamma had a blockbuster start, collecting Rs 24 crore on its first day and Rs 18.6 crore on day two. It continued strong with Rs 13 crore on day three and Rs 10 crore on Friday despite the weekday dip. Ayushmann, who is basking in the success, recently shared an emotional post thanking fans and his family. Along with photos and videos from theatres, he wrote, “This family has seen a lot in the last few years. The success of Thamma is like a beautiful divine light. It is a result of the collective prayers of the young and the old present here.” He added, “My family, my late father and the audience have blessed Thamma with love. Don’t be surprised if you come across an overwhelmed me in one of the theatres in the suburbs — I may drop in to say hi and thank you.” With its steady box office performance and strong word-of-mouth, Thamma looks set to continue its winning streak into the coming week. Thamma Review News18 Showsha gave the film 3 stars. An excerpt from the review read, “Thamma was capable of so much more. This is the first time that a mainstream Hindi film is exploring the myths surrounding vampires. Yes, there’s masala, loads of it. But MHCU’s earlier films had raised our expectations so high that by the end of Thamma, you’ll be left feeling high and dry. There was ample room for experimentation and there was so much potential to push boundaries and dare more. But ultimately, the storytelling remains curiously restrained and gets reduced to just another horror-comedy with tropes that arrive on cue.”
