Skate early access has arrived, but before the early access was the early early access. Yes, an unnecessary mouthful. Instead, the real name of this initial look was the Skate Preview, and you could only partake in a bit of behind the scenes testing if you signed up to the Skate Insider program. The obvious benefit to this was to play the highly anticipated return of Skate before most others, but there were additional rewards that would be granted when the real early access hit. We’ll take a look at what these Skate Insider Rewards actually are, so you either know what you’re missing out on if you didn’t get in, or by the envy of other skaters as you don some fancy gear. Skate Insider Rewards: What you need to know As previously mentioned, Skate Insider Rewards are reserved for those who are part of the Skate Insider program. To be more specific, you must have signed up for this before June 27, otherwise you aren’t eligible for the rewards. You’ll then need to check the account you signed up to playtest with, and the rewards are rolled out the week of when the true Early Access kicks off. What the devs have not said is that you must have actually played the Preview, so even if you didn’t get a chance to perform your first ollie, you should still get the cosmetics. Speaking of which, the full set of Skate Insider Rewards includes a custom deck, coupled with four accompanying stickers you can slap on your board. While there’s no explicit mention of these being made available later in any lootboxes, since at least one of the stickers has ‘insider’ on it, it’s pretty safe to say they can’t be snapped up at a later date. So, when these do drop in your account, you can get them applied to your character right away and show off to other San Van residents that you know your manuals from your melons.
