Terrifying moment pop star collapses on stage – and she has no memory of it

South Korean pop icon Hyuna sparked panic among fans after collapsing mid-performance at a music festival in China over the weekend. The 33-year-old singer was belting out her 2011 mega-hit 'Bubble Pop!' at Waterbomb Macau on Sunday (November 9) when she suddenly fainted on stage and left the crowd in a state of shock. Footage that went viral on social media shows the moment the K-pop star stumbled and fell, with two backup dancers rushing to her side before she was carried off by a member of security. The singer – who shot to fame as part of Wonder Girls, 4Minute and later Triple H – later took to Instagram to apologise to fans and reassure them she was okay. Posting in Korean, she wrote: “I’m truly sorry. It was only a short time since my last performance, but I wanted to show you my best side.” Hyuna admitted she had no memory of collapsing, and once again said sorry to her fans in Macau who had paid to see her perform, reports The Straits Times . She continued: “I’ll try to build up my stamina and work hard consistently. It will be so great if everything goes my way, but I’ll try my best.” The fainting scare comes just weeks after Hyuna caused concern with a string of worrying social media posts about her eating habits and dramatic weight loss . Back on October 3, she stunned followers by writing: “Hyun-ah, you ate way too much. Let’s snap out of it and go on a strict diet. "You liked being skinny, right? Let’s do it again.” Then a month later on November 4, she revealed she had lost around 10kg in a month, sharing a photo of her weighing scale showing she now weighed about 49kg. Alongside the image, she wrote: “It’s so hard to change the first digit from the 50s. I still have a long way to go. "How much have you eaten all this time, Kim Hyun-ah?” Fans flooded the comments with messages of concern for the star’s wellbeing, urging her to focus on her health. Hyuna – real name Kim Hyun-ah – married fellow K-pop singer Yong Jun-hyung, 35, in October last year. It’s not the first time the idol has struggled with health issues. In August 2020, she was forced to delay her comeback single 'Good Girl', and later her full studio album 'I’m Not Cool', due to vasovagal syncope, a fainting condition caused by low blood pressure or standing too long. Her label P Nation said at the time it was due to the condition, which can cause sudden dizziness and blackouts. Hyuna also revealed back in November 2019 that she has been battling depression and panic disorder, sharing the news directly with fans on social media. Despite repeated health scares, supporters are now rallying around the beloved performer. One Instagram user wrote: "This girl has been working since she was 15 years. Went through difficult public phases in her life. "I hope she takes care of herself," while another added: "I genuinely hope she's okay".
