Tencent Holdings Ltd. is in talks with companies in and outside China to form an alliance of carbon credit buyers aimed at increasing the supply, according to an official at the company’s Climate Innovation Hub. The Chinese internet giant plans to launch the consortium — targeting mostly Asian companies and tapping solutions in the Global South nations — as soon as the end of this year, said Ella Wang, a senior program director, in an interview in Belém, Brazil, during COP30. The alliance is expected to include firms from the technology, manufacturing and consumer sectors, she said.
