Temporary Road Traffic Changes & Closures The Ministry of Public Works and Environment is advising of “several temporary road traffic changes and closures scheduled to take place in various locations to facilitate infrastructure upgrades and road safety improvements.” A Government spokesperson said, “Motorists are urged to plan ahead and make adjustments to their travel routes accordingly. Middle Road, Smith’s Parish – Two-Way Traffic Controls “On Sunday, 26 October and potentially into Monday, 27 October 2025, temporary traffic controls will be in effect along Middle Road in Smith’s Parish near the wall repair site. “The change is necessary due to paving works scheduled on North Shore Road in Flatt’s Village under a separate notice [RTN #78]. “Stop-and-go signs will be used on Sunday, and temporary traffic lights will be in operation during the evening and night hours. On Monday morning, traffic control personnel will return to manage the flow. These measures are in place to maintain safe traffic movement during concurrent works in the area. Parson’s Road, Pembroke – Rolling Lane Closures for Elevated Crosswalk Installation “From Monday, 27 October through Friday, 31 October 2025, Parson’s Road will experience temporary rolling lane closures between Two Way Mews and Field View Lane. “These closures are necessary for the installation of three elevated crosswalks at key pedestrian points: near Social Cycles Bermuda, the Pembroke Park bus laybys, and west of the Glebe Road crossing. Works will occur on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. “Traffic management personnel will be in place to direct vehicles using stop-and-go signs, and motorists are encouraged to use Marsh Folly Road or Happy Valley Road as alternative routes. Middle Road and Orange Valley Road, Devonshire – Lane Closure for Trenching “A lane closure will be in place on Middle Road and Orange Valley Road in Devonshire on Saturday, 25 October and Sunday, 26 October 2025. This is to facilitate trench works by Link Bermuda. “Works will be carried out from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days. Temporary traffic lights and stop-and-go controls will be used to manage vehicle flow, and detours will be available via Tee Street, Montpelier Road, and Flora Duffy Hill. The corresponding RTN is attached with details. Palmetto Road at Glebe Road Bridge, Pembroke – Full Road Closure for Scaffolding Works “Palmetto Road will be closed at the Glebe Road Bridge in Pembroke from Saturday, 25 October to Sunday, 26 October 2025, to accommodate scaffolding installation. Both lanes are expected to reopen by Sunday night. Motorists should use North Shore Road, Marsh Folly Road, or Bishop Spencer Road as alternate routes during this period. “Motorists are advised to exercise caution, adhere to posted signage, and follow instructions from traffic control personnel while these works are ongoing. Delays should be anticipated in the affected areas.
