Last Saturday, October 25, 2025, the courtyard of the newly reopened TEKURA Studio in Adenta came alive with emotion, art, and reflection as friends, partners, artisans, design enthusiasts, and industry leaders gathered to celebrate TEKURA’s 25th anniversary; a milestone that marks not just years of design excellence, but an extraordinary journey of rebirth. Emerging from the devastating fire incident of December 2023 that destroyed the company’s production facility, TEKURA’s comeback story is one of resilience, faith, and purpose. The anniversary theme, “From Ashes, Life Is Reborn,” captures the spirit of a brand that continues to evolve, reinvent, and inspire through African design. A Day of Reflection and Renewal The celebration was more than a ceremony; it was a demonstration of the power of heritage and innovation. Guests were welcomed into a transformed space, the new TEKURA Studio, a serene design oasis tucked away in an unexpected corner of Accra, where craftsmanship, culture, and contemporary aesthetics converged in perfect harmony. The event featured heartfelt speeches from TEKURA’s founders, the Managing Director, the Board Chair, and the CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, who delivered the keynote address. Together, their words painted a story of courage, craftsmanship, and continuity. Highlights from the Addresses Deputy CEO, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Mr. Ambrose Edwin Nsarkoh noted that “Tekura today represents the future we envision for Ghanaian exports, brands that are competitive, authentic, and sustainable. You have become the benchmark for what a creative enterprise can achieve when artistry and business discipline collide.” The Founders Josephine & Kweku Forson also shared their reflection, “But if there is one thing we’ve learned over 25 years, it is that building a business is not about the products alone, but it’s about the people, the culture, and the values that hold it together. We built Tekura on three pillars: authenticity, craftsmanship, and community.” Managing Director Audrey Forson added, “My story, from apprentice to Managing Director, is living proof that craftsmanship and design can build global brands and create boundless opportunities for young Africans.” TEKURA is Open for Business With the reopening of its Adenta Studio, TEKURA is officially open for business.
