By DayakDaily Team KUCHING, Oct 28: A delegation of 38 students and teachers from St Andrew’s Secondary School in Singapore visited the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Digital Village (TDV) today—Sarawak’s leading innovation hub—for an introduction to Borneo’s technology and creativity ecosystem. In a Facebook post, TEGAS chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the visit was a direct response to an initiative proposed by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, during the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) annual dinner on Oct 17. “The Premier had suggested such visits to give Singaporean students exposure to Sarawak’s flora and fauna, as well as its technological ecosystem,” said Len Talif, who is also the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development Sarawak. According to a press release, the visit aimed to expose the delegation from Singapore to Borneo’s technology and creativity ecosystem, while also introducing TEGAS’s role in empowering communities through innovation and social entrepreneurship. During the visit, the students participated in a mindfulness awareness session conducted by Teduh Jiwa, a social enterprise founded by TEGAS alumni. The delegation also learned how TEGAS supports social and impactful entrepreneurship initiatives that help build an inclusive and innovative community. — DayakDaily
