In addition to the text of the obituary, any photographs that you wish to include can be attached to this email. Please put the text of the obituary in a Word document, a Google document or in the body of the email. The Reading Eagle also requires a way to verify the death, so please include either the phone number of the funeral home or cremation service that is in charge of the deceased’s care or a photo of his/her death certificate. We also request that your full name, phone number and address are all included in this email.
All payments by families must be made with a credit card. We will send a proof of the completed obituary before we require payment. The obituary cannot run, however, until we receive payment in full.

Please call the obituary desk, at 610-371-5018, for information on pricing.
Members of Brandywine Community Library’s Teen Reading Lounge recently delivered fidgets to Topton Ambulance and Topton Volunteer Fire Company No 1.
“The teens who participated in Teen Reading Lounge this year with the Brandywine Community Library chose to focus on mental health, specifically in teenagers. They read four books and worked on a guided notebook throughout the program,” Teen Reading Lounge participant Zach Hadley said in a press release.
After reading these books, in an effort to reach out to the community, the teens used a 3D printer to print 600 fidgets.
“These fidgets were then donated to the Topton Fire Company and the Topton Ambulance to use to comfort children in a time of need. Thank you to PA Humanities for making all this possible!” Hadley said.
The Teen Reading Lounge at Brandywine Community Library in Topton is an interactive program created by Pennsylvania Humanities for public libraries. The program gives teens a space to discuss books and engage in projects related to themes they choose, such as mental health or book banning, with recent activities including 3D printing fidgets for emergency services and inviting teens to Mental Health First Aid classes.
Youth-Led Humanities is made possible by Library Services and Technology Act Funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries with additional support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, individual donors and other funders, according to the release.
