A teenager accused of being involved in the gang rape of a young girl has been seen for the first time since his arrest after the alleged attack took place.
Adam Abdul-Hamid, 19, was one of two men and two boys charged in June over the alleged six-hour sexual assault in a car driving around Sydney’s south-west last December.
He was granted release in the NSW Supreme Court on Friday after a judge found he would not pose an unacceptable risk to the community and was released into the custody of his mother.
The 19-year-old must live under strict home detention conditions at one address in Sydney’s west but was allowed to work in a barber shop during business hours.
On Tuesday morning, he was seen out and about for the first time since his arrest, being driven in a white 2015 Mercedes CLA45 AMG by his mother.
Wearing a Gucci cap on backwards, with his distinctive rat-tail on display, Abdul-Hamid was on his way to the police station where he must report every day.
When the Daily Mail approached the teenager for a comment, a family member unleashed a tirade of profanities.
‘The rape is alleged,’ the man bellowed. ‘They [the police] don’t have enough proof.’

Abdul-Hamid along with three other teens who cannot be named for legal reasons, are accused of participating in a six-hour-long sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl at multiple Sydney locations in December 2024.
Due to his age, he is the only accused person who may be named by the Daily Mail.
The 17-year-old girl was allegedly approached by a 16-year-old boy at about 5.30pm at a shopping centre in Liverpool, 31km south-west of Sydney’s CBD, a court was told.
The 16-year-old allegedly followed the girl to her car and she reluctantly let him inside before he began sexually assaulting her, according to the police facts presented to court.
A short time later, the male asked to be driven 5km to Wheat Park in Sadleir, to which the alleged victim agreed on the understanding he would get out of the car when they arrived, police allege.
At the park, two other males entered the car, and they also allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, the court was told.
A fourth male then arrived in another vehicle, and the allged sexual assault continued as the girl was driven around, according to the court documents.
During the alleged assault, Abdul-Hamid was asked, ‘Do you want to have a turn?’, according to the police facts sheet.
The 17-year-old girl’s alleged ordeal unfolded across six hours on December 15 2024

He must report to police daily as part of his bail conditions
‘No, I’m all right,’ he allegedly replied.
The alleged six-hour ordeal ended at about 11.30pm when the males departed and left the girl in her car.
It is alleged the teenager immediately contacted a friend who took her to Liverpool Police Station to report the alleged attack.
The two younger males faced a children’s court that same month, while months of investigation led to the two older alleged offenders being arrested on Tuesday.
Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy at a home in Condell Park in south-west Sydney, on December 20, 2024.
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with 24 offences including nine counts of sexual intercourse without consent and eight counts of aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s.
Detectives arrested a 14-year-old boy at a home in Miller, also in Sydney’s south-west, on the same day.
Both the 16-year-old and 14-year-old boys were refused bail and faced a children’s court on December 21, 2024.
Abdul-Hamid was charged with five counts of aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s
Wheat Park at Sadleir is about 5km from where police say the girl’s nightmare began at Liverpool’s Westfield shopping centre, and where many of the alleged sexual assaults are alleged to have occurred

In June detectives, along with the Public Order and Riot Squad, simultaneously executed two warrants at homes in Sadleir and Heckenberg – both in Sydney’s south-west.
Dramatic police footage showed Strike Force Police, along with the Public Order and Riot Squad, breaking down the door as they executed a warrant at the Abdul-Hamid family home.
He was charged with five counts of aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s.
Last week, Justice Hament Dhanji found the prosecution case was relatively strong but the exact nature of Abdul-Hamid’s alleged involvement needed to be tried by a jury.
Prosecutors do not allege Abdul-Hamid physically assaulted the woman but say DNA evidence on the car where the assaults took place shows his complicity in the acts.
‘The crown case cannot be described as incontestable,’ Justice Dhanji said on Friday.
The likelihood of a trial not occurring until 2027 was also ‘particularly acute’ when there was no certainty of a conviction, the judge said.
Abdul-Hamid has been in custody since his arrest in June, when he was charged with five counts of aggravated sexual assault in company.
Abdul-Hamid will face Campbelltown Local Court on October 8.
