Team India Staff Were Denied Photo With King Charles! What Happened Next Left PM Modi In Splits | WATCH

India created history on November 2 (Sunday) when they defeated South Africa in the final to win their first-ever Women's World Cup in Navi Mumbai. The history-making team won over everyone including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who showered them with hight words of praise. The team then were invited by him to visit and interact with him at his residence in 10, Janpath. During this interaction, head coach Amol Muzumdar shared an incident involving King Charles III that even made PM Modi chuckle. During the Indian women's team's tour to England in June, they had an opportunity to meet King Charles. However, according to protocol only 20 people were allowed to meet him at Buckingham Palace. Hence, the 15 players in the squad and five members from the support staff were allowed, leaving most of the other support staff behind. On that day they had manifested that they did not want a photograph with the King, but with PM Modi after they won the World Cup. Hence, their dream was fulfilled. This incident left the Prime Minister in splits. “In June we were in England, there we met King Charles. However, they had this protocol that only 20 members can attend. So, the support staff couldn’t attend. I told them, ‘Extremely sorry but the protocol is for just 20 members’. They then manifested: ‘We don’t want this photograph. We want a photograph with PM Modi on November 4 or 5’. Today is that day," Amol Muzumdar said. The run to the title wasn't smooth as three back-to-back defeats to South Africa, Australia, and England threatened the campaign, but the fighting spirit and never-give-up attitude saw the team script a memorable comeback. They decimated New Zealand in the virtual knockout, Australia in the semifinal, and South Africa in the final to win the maiden World Cup.
