Teac Announces New Reference 500 Series CD Transport For Lovers Of The Silver Disc

The new Teac PD-507T next-generation CD transport designed to expand the capabilities of the brand’s Reference 500 Series.

Japanese niche audio brand Teac has launched a next-generation CD transport designed to expand the capabilities of the brand’s Reference 500 Series. Featuring Teac’s proprietary high-quality CD mechanism, the PD-507T is suitable for external DACs and a wide range of digital audio systems where reference-grade CD playback is required.

The PD-507T uses a CD transport mechanism which is manufactured by Teac. By providing a digital output without passing through an onboard DAC, the new CD player outputs an ultra-clean signal for feeding audio systems with digital inputs, including Teac’s own Reference 500 Series USB DAC models. It is particularly suited for use with Teac’s recently released UD-507, a discrete DAC, preamplifier and headphone amplifier.

The basic CD transport mechanism used in the unit is a Teac CD-5020A, which has a long-standing track record for broadcast use. By combining the robust mechanism with a semi-floating mounting structure and a specially designed drive circuit, the PD-507T produces a refined audio signal.

Enhanced Features

The new PD-507T includes a new feature that enables users to turn off any unused digital outputs. Separate power supplies have been added for each clock and digital output. Additionally, the electrical circuitry and mechanical construction have been fine-tuned to provide a higher level of sound quality compared to previous models.

MORE FOR YOU

The Teac PD-507T also offers connectivity with the CG-10M-X master clock generator to enhance sound quality using an external 10MHz clock. The UD-507 has an amber-colored full-dot OLED display and control terminals. Teac says this specification improves system usability, especially when used alongside other components in the Reference 500 Series.
