Trump H-1B Visa Fee Hike: After United States President Donald Trump gave the green light to raise the fee for H-1B visas to a whopping USD 100000 annually US-based tech companies are under tension. Notably Indian companies have sponsored about 13396 H-1B visas. Now with the new order the fees will be increased from USD 13.4 million to USD 1.34 billion. This amount is equal to the combined net profits of TCS Infosys HCLTech Cognizant and LTIMindtree in the financial year 2025.

Following the major decision to hike the H-1B visa fee to USD100000 the Indian tech companies which are directly or indirectly affected by the decision are expected to feel the heat when the trading activity resumes on Monday. If we talk about Nasdaq impact is already visible. Shares of Cognizant Technology Solutions plunged 4.75 percent Infy’s shares cracked 3.40 percent on the NYSE. The US companies such as NVIDIA Amazon Tesla Meta Alphabet are also in pressure and likely to affect in the coming months.
US has raised H-1B visa fees to USD 100000 annually increasing costs for Indian IT companies that sponsor thousands of visas.

As per stock market experts Indian IT and tech companies are likely to face talent pool crisis. The same issue will also be faced by US tech giants like – Apple Meta Amazon Google NVIDIA Tesla etc as they are now forced to hire American tech professionals following H-1B fee hike. This will affect the input cost of the companies.
The experts said that American tech professionals demand higher pay compared to Indian professionals who are considered better than them. The companies’ profit margins may face challenges in the near future. Investors may start to factor this in when trading on Dalal Street resumes on Monday.
