Taylor Swift's 'The Life of a Showgirl' breaks Spotify pre-save record

Taylor Swift’s upcoming album “The Life of a Showgirl” has already broken Spotify records with over five million pre-saves, surpassing her previous record set by “The Tortured Poets Department,” according to Rolling Stone.
Swift’s 12th studio album is set to drop on Oct. 3, accompanied by an extensive promotional campaign that includes multiple fan experiences. The singer announced a three-day cinema event called “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” running from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5.
“I hereby invite you to a dazzling soirée, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas!” Swift wrote on Instagram.
“You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single “The Fate of Ophelia,” along with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl.’”
Swift encouraged fans to “brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan” for the event, noting that “dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”
To further promote the release, Swift has launched her own SiriusXM station, Taylor’s Channel 13, which will remain on air until Oct. 19. The channel went live 13 days before the album’s release and features her most recognizable singles, deep album cuts, vault tracks and live performances, according to People.com.
“Taylor Swift continues to not only dominate the music world, but also every aspect of pop culture,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s president and chief content officer.
“Her chart-topping, award-winning songs resonate with every generation of listeners, and we are thrilled to deliver our subscribers a place to celebrate their fandom and the new album with the launch of Taylor’s Channel 13.”
As per US Weekly, Spotify will also host a three-day pop-up experience in Manhattan, where Swift fans can discover Easter eggs and other surprises before the album’s release.
