Taylor Swift nearly decided to quit music after her infamous feud with Kim Kardashian shook the entertainment world in 2016. The singer faced intense backlash after Kardashian branded her a “snake” in a viral tweet, sparking a massive social media storm.
According to Channel 4’s upcoming documentary, Swift was “moments from quitting” as the online hate escalated. Sources said the star endured death threats, lost her reputation overnight, and felt she had no way to fight back.
Fans in the documentary recalled how damaging the feud became. One noted that “she could have saved a million babies, and it wouldn’t have mattered,” as the “snake” label stuck across the internet.
The feud traces back to Swift’s earlier clash with Kanye West, Kardashian’s then-husband, who stormed the stage during the 2009 MTV VMAs. Years later, Kardashian reignited tensions on “National Snake Day” by posting snake emojis, a move that cemented Swift’s label and left her career at risk.
Although she nearly chose to quit music, Swift rebuilt her career, reclaiming her reputation through powerful albums and global tours. Today, she stands as one of the most influential artists of her generation.
