Tax Credit Feedback Due On September 25

The Ministry of Finance is reminding all stakeholders that the deadline to submit feedback on the proposed Tax Credit legislation is tomorrow, September 25th.

A Government spokesperson said, “This consultation follows the release of the Tax Reform Commission Report on August 27, 2025, which outlines key recommendations to modernize Bermuda’s tax system. Among these are three proposed tax credits: a substance-based tax credit for regulated insurers, a community benefit credit, and a utilities infrastructure credit.

“The consultation paper, released earlier this month by the Minister of Finance, invites public comment on an illustrative draft of the legislation. This draft assumes adoption of the Commission’s principal recommendations but is intended solely as a basis for discussion, not as an endorsement of the Report’s conclusions.

“Consultation Paper Responses and Comments should be submitted by email to: finance@gov.bm. Respondents should include ‘Tax Credits’ in the subject box.

“Submissions received after the deadline may not be considered.

“The consultation paper and the Tax Reform Commission Report are available for review on the Bermuda Citizens Forum at Citizen engagement platform | The Government of Bermuda.

“Stakeholder input is vital to shaping Bermuda’s evolving tax credit framework. The Ministry of Finance encourages all interested parties to submit their views before the consultation closes.”
