Tanishaa Mukerji has broken her silence on her relationship with Uday Chopra, reflecting on the closeness they shared and the heartbreak that followed. The actress, who collaborated with Yash Raj Films early in her career, recalled their time together during Neal ‘n’ Nikki and addressed the rumours surrounding their breakup, including chatter about a pre-nuptial agreement.
Tanishaa and Uday Chopra relationship
The bond between Tanishaa and Uday began as a close friendship on set and eventually developed into a romantic relationship. “I was more heartbroken jab mera Uday ke sath breakup hua. Because we were friends. We were very close and we have known each other for a very long time,” she said in a Pinkvilla interview. Despite the heartbreak, she said, “I believe that whatever happens, happens for the good. This is part of life then you get over it and move on.”
Rumours About a Prenup
Tanishaa firmly denied speculation that a pre-nuptial agreement caused the split. “Rubbish! Rubbish! I can’t believe you’re even asking me this question. I respect Uday and his family too much to comment on any of this. Anybody who respects them would know that this is all rubbish. But overall, we had a great relationship, and relationships fail,” she said.
Life After The Breakup
The actress also discussed staying in touch with ex-partners, candidly saying, “I find it very difficult to stay in touch with my ex-boyfriends. Ek baar ex hogaya toh ex hogaya.” She said the media often makes relationships look perfect, but people don’t see what really happens behind closed doors.
After their breakup, Uday Chopra shifted to the US to work on a new branch of Yash Raj Films, while Tanishaa continued her journey in acting and advocacy. Both tried their hand at acting, but neither achieved long-term box-office success.
