A 50-year-old woman was brutally murdered along with her teenage daughter in their home in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district on Friday. The money and jewel in their house were found to be intact, police sources confirmed to Times Now. The deceased has been identified as Ellammal (50) and her daughter Susitha (13). Ellammal’s husband Suresh died in 2018 due to ill health. The couple had three children – Periyasamy (15), Susitha (13) and Susika (13) One of the couple’s children, Susika, died recently in a road accident. The crime came to light on Friday afternoon, when one of their relatives visited their house. Both Ellammal and Susitha were found dead amid a pool of blood. The relative alerted the Krishnagiri police, and a team led by District SP Thangadurai visited the crime scene along with DSP Murali. Forensic experts and sniffer dogs were brought to the crime scene and a thorough probe is currently underway. Police sources say jewels and money remain intact in the house. The police are trying to secure CCTV footages from the nearby areas. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Krishnagiri Government Hospital for postmortem examination. Earlier this month, a 30-year-old woman was found murdered at her home in Tuticorin’s Mappillaiyurani locality. The police suspect the involvement of two teenagers in the killing – one of them the son of a serving head constable. The victim, Shakthi Maheswari, was attacked with sharp weapons while she was alone. She is survived by her husband and two children. Investigators said the two teenagers allegedly hacked the woman to death before fleeing the scene. NDTV quoting the police reported that the crime is linked to tensions within the head constable’s family over his alleged relationship with the victim. The incident was the second such crime involving children of police personnel in recent weeks. Recently, the son of a sub-inspector allegedly killed his sister’s boyfriend in the neighbouring Tirunelveli district.
