The women voters of Tamil Nadu should take vow to uproot the M.K. Stalin-led DMK government, which has created ‘unsafe Tamil Nadu’ for women and children by selling liquor and allowing drug trade to thrive, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss has appealed.
Addressing a public meeting in Palayamkottai on Tuesday, Dr. Anbumani said rampant drug abuse, alcoholism and corruption under DMK rule had destroyed the younger generation and Tamil Nadu’s self-respect. While late Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai, who adamantly refused to start liquor sale in Tamil Nadu for augmenting revenue, late Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi trashed prohibition and introduced alcohol to Tamils. Besides this, ganja and drugs of all sorts had pervaded into even the remote villages of Tamil Nadu, thanks to the rule led by Mr. Stalin.
“Every family in Tamil Nadu is facing this serious threat. The Tamil Nadu voters, especially the women, should uproot the “anti-women DMK rule”. Free availability of drugs and alcohol in Tamil Nadu are creating humans into merciless animals.,” he said.
Mr. Anbumani said he would close down permanently all liquor shops in Tamil Nadu and crush the drug cartel, if he was given an opportunity to rule Tamil Nadu.
“I can transform the entire Tamil Nadu within just six months as we think of the welfare of future generations,” he vowed.
The PMK leader said the electorate should not get lured by the DMK which would bribe the voters for getting votes.
“You should weigh between ₹2,000 to be given for buying your votes or the future of your children. You should be clear on who should not be elected again,” Dr. Anbumani said.
He criticised Mr. Stalin for not fulfilling the DMK’s poll promises like monthly power consumption reading, NEET exemption, old pension scheme revival, waiver of education loan, appointment of 9,000-odd Assistant Professors in government and government-aided colleges etc.
“Only 66 of the 505 DMK’s poll promises alone – only 13% – have been fulfilled so far in the past four-and-a-half years. It is a betrayal of the voters, who should not vote any more in support of the DMK,” he said.
He cited unemployment as the prime reason behind the caste-based clashes and crimes in the southern districts.
