Take a look: General Motors sign installed on Hudson’s Detroit

DETROIT – Check it out!
Crews are adding finishing touches to Hudson’s Detroit, including installing a new 20-foot General Motors sign on the building.
Overnight, workers completed the installation, and you can watch a video of the new sign above.
This comes just one day after we got an inside look at the brand-new building, which is ready to welcome employees from GM and other companies.
The building features over 400,000 square feet of modern office space, a variety of shopping options, a large event venue, and a rooftop lounge scheduled to open in 2026.
This development pays tribute to the historic J.L. Hudson Department Store, once the tallest department store in the world and a cherished gathering spot for Detroiters to shop, connect, and create memories.
Shopping options are already expanding, with wellness apparel brand ALO now open and modern Western outfitter Tecovas will open Friday, Oct. 10.
More retailers will be announced soon — joining Bedrock tenants along the Woodward corridor, including Apple, Shinola, Lululemon, Nike, Savage X Fenty, H&M, and The Lip Bar.
Inside, the office spaces impress with a seven-story atrium flooded with natural light and live plants, topped by a skylight inspired by the headlight cover of a 1954 Corvette.
Amenities include a café offering grab-and-go meals, a fitness center, a versatile “Rec Room” featuring a pickleball court and sports simulator, plus plenty of meeting spaces.
Looking ahead, Bedrock plans to open the 685-foot tower on the property in 2027.
This new tower will include The Detroit EDITION hotel, luxury condos known as The Residences at The Detroit EDITION, dining options, and more, completing a massive 1.5-million-square-foot development that’s reshaping the heart of Detroit.
A new public plaza called Nick Gilbert Way, connecting Woodward Avenue to Farmer Street at Hudson’s Detroit, will open on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Named in honor of the late son of Dan and Jennifer Gilbert, this plaza will serve as the heart of the development.
It will offer seasonal programming like live music, art installations, retail pop-ups, and other experiences, kicking off with Hudson’s for the holidays.
Adding to the plaza’s charm, Un Deux Trois — a French-inspired coffee truck from Midtown’s Café Sous Terre, will serve pastries, espresso drinks, and coffee seven days a week.
