Syringa Hospitals and Clinics announces new partnership

GRANGEVILLE — Syringa Hospital and Clinics is entering a management agreement with Ovation Healthcare, according to a news release from the hospital. Ovation will provide support in operational areas including executive leadership, financial management, staff education and strategic development. SHC will remain a locally governed, community-owned facility, according to a news release, and its Board of Trustees will maintain full oversight of hospital operations. The partnership will improve SHC’s long-term sustainability and allow for better patient care, said Laura Smith, chairperson of the SHC Board of Trustees. “This collaboration allows us to retain local ownership and oversight while gaining access to the expertise and resources of a trusted national partner,” she said. The SHC board will soon work alongside Ovation to begin a search for the next SHC CEO, with the board making the final decision. The board has appointed Bruce Shepard, a health care executive with experience at Community Health Systems, Walmart, Savvysherpa and PayrHealth, as the interim CEO.
