Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney, who stars in the biopic 'Christy' which premiered on Friday, the 7th of November, dropped a bombshell statement this week indicating she had so much fun filming the fight scenes in her latest boxing flick, that she's tempted to compete in a fight for real — whether that's an exhibition, or a charity bout. And her comments caught the attention of a world champion in combat sport, who has offered to train her for real. A 28-year-old movie star, Sweeney has starred in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', the TV series 'The Handmaid's Tale', as well as 'The White Lotus'. Earlier this year, an American Eagle ad in which she wore nothing but blue jeans caused a nationwide stir. Now, she's generating headlines once more, and it's seemingly because she's suggesting she will step through the ropes once again, but not for a real fight, rather than a film. If that really is the case, then she could become the sport's biggest crossover star considering her fame is already international. And there is already a fighter out there who wants to help coach her for her big moment. World Champion Offers to Help Coach Sydney Sweeney in Boxing Speaking to SportsCasting, Sweeney explained the light-bulb moment in which she realized she wanted to fight for real. "There was a moment in the middle of filming where I was like, 'Should I give it all up and fight because I love this'?" In the movie, Sweeney plays Christy Martin, a pro boxer who went on to become America's best-known female in the fight game, depicting these moments, together with her husband's attempt to murder her. "Christy said she’d sign me up," said Sweeney. "So, this isn’t as hypothetical as you actually think it is." "Yeah, I’d totally do a charity bout, that’d be so sick." As for opponent, Sweeney wants fans to keep guessing. "Who would I fight? It’s a surprise. You’ll have to wait. I’m serious. You gotta stay tuned for the pay-per-view and you’ll see it." Claressa Shields, the self-proclaimed GWOAT of women's boxing, offered to help Sweeney should she continue her journey in boxing. Shields even said "every woman should experience one" fight, when speaking to TMZ Sports. "Win, lose or draw. But if she played Christy Martin and I heard she did MMA back in her younger years ... hell, why not?"
