“India”s leading food delivery platform, Swiggy, is about to launch Toing, a separate food delivery app to cater to the price-conscious consumers. Interestingly, the first offering will be in Pune and not Bengaluru, its usual test market. Swiggy to launch Toing Advertisment “Bengaluru is already highly penetrated. In Pune, there is more scope to grow the business. The company is unlikely to scale beyond 4-5 regions in Pune for now,” a person familiar with the developments told Moneycontrol. Through Toing, Swiggy intends to target college-going students and freshers who have just joined the workforce, with a budget constraint. As reported by MoneyControl, Toing will list eateries offering affordable meals, largely in the Rs 100-Rs 150 range. The idea is similar to the Rs 99 store on the main app, but Toing will scale up more offerings and operate like a separate unit. Swiggy Toing lists items priced below Rs 99 as well as those that can be delivered in under 30 minutes. Food available includes cakes, burgers, pasta, sandwiches, sweets, ice creams, pizzas, biryani, dosa, kebabs, parathas, noodles, and pastries. Swiggy”s other standalone app, Snacc, uses a micro-kitchen model and includes private labelling. Toing partners with restaurants and offers meals priced between Rs 99 and Rs 149, the person added. According to data available on the Play Store, Swiggy”s Toing has more than 500 downloads. It is live on the Play Store and App Store.
