Suzuki has unveiled a CNG variant of its popular scooter, the Access, at the 2025 Japan Auto Show. This scooter will run on both petrol and CNG. Let’s take a look at its design, features, and launch details. Amid rising petrol prices in India, Suzuki has given its most popular scooter, the Access 125, a facelift. The company introduced its CNG variant at the 2025 Japan Auto Show, which will not only be lighter on the pocket but also beneficial for the environment. The new model is better than before in terms of mileage, design, and safety. Let’s take a closer look. Suzuki has designed the Access 125 CNG to retain its classic look while adding a modern touch. The scooter now features green and blue dual-tone graphics, CNG badging on the side panels, and a new digital-analog instrument cluster that displays information on both petrol and CNG tanks. The LED headlamp, chrome trim, and premium seat quality make the scooter even more attractive. The company has specifically introduced it with an eco-friendly design. Engine and Performance The Suzuki Access CNG features the same 125cc air-cooled engine as the petrol version, but now features a CNG fuel system. This scooter uses bi-fuel technology—meaning it can run on both petrol and CNG. According to the company, the scooter’s top speed will be slightly lower in CNG mode, but mileage will increase significantly. Suzuki claims that the Access 125 CNG will travel 60 to 70 kilometers per kilogram of gas, which is approximately 30–40% more mileage than the petrol model. The scooter rides smoothly in CNG mode, and when switched to petrol, its performance remains the same as the standard Access 125. Safety and Technology Suzuki has placed special emphasis on safety features in the Access 125 CNG. It features a dual-fuel switching safety system that prevents any gas leakage when changing fuel modes. It also includes technologies like a leak detection sensor and an auto cut-off valve, which automatically shuts off the fuel supply in case of a hazard. The scooter has also been upgraded in terms of technology. It now features modern features like Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB charging port. With all this, the Access 125 CNG is not only safe but also fully updated to meet the needs of today’s youth. Launch and Price After its unveiling at the Japan Auto Show, the Suzuki Access 125 CNG is expected to be launched in India by early 2026. The company will initially launch it in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad, where CNG stations are already well-established.
