He collapsed to the ground and had to be rushed for treatment.What is Shreyas Iyer's injury update?Shreyas Iyer was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. The Indian team doctor was also present. Scans revealed a spleen laceration and internal bleeding. While his condition was initially critical, doctors managed to stop the bleeding, and there was no need for surgery. (as reported by The Times of India).The BCCI also provided a major update on his injury and condition with an official release."Shreyas Iyer sustained a blunt injury to his abdomen, resulting in a laceration of his spleen with internal bleeding. The bleeding was promptly arrested. His condition is stable, and he continues to be under observation," the statement read.Suryakumar Yadav also spoke about Iyer's condition during the press conference ahead of the five-match T20I series Down Under."We spoke to him on the first day when we got to know that he was injured. I had actually called him, then I got to know that he did not have his phone with him. So, I then called out physio, Kamlesh Jain, and he told me that Shreyas is stable. I've been talking to him for the last two days, and he has been replying. If he is replying on the phone, it means that he is stable. The doctor is also there with him, so it is looking good. It is good that he is talking, it is all normal," he said. It remains to be seen how long Iyer will take to get out of this situation and return to action.
